Nick will tell stories of his childhood spent in Calabria in the south of Italy, where he learnt to cook age-old family recipes with produce grown using the farming methods of his forebears.
Each guest is invited to follow the lovely old-fashioned way of eating long, leisurely meals. Enjoy the chemistry created by the combination of guests around the long table. Picture yourself at a family dinner in Calabria!
When you arrive you will be given a glass of Nick's own wine, after which you can chat with your fellow diners. If you would like to buy a bottle to share or another glass this is a good time – remember no preservatives in the wine – no problema in the mattina!
Nick will invite you to be seated when he is ready to serve. Freshly prepared bread and lots of deliciously simple dishes will arrive at the table slowly, little by little. After which, a magnificent pasta dish, followed by the Agostino family’s secret, sweet biscuits.
Cygnets at Auburn is very excited that Nick Agostino has chosen to make Cygnets the home of "La Masseria" – in Italian, 'the home farm shop'.
In Nick's case, it also means, the toil of the soil, his labour of love.
Come to Cygnets on a Saturday evening and enjoy a traditional Italian feast. Food cooked by Nick, from produce grown by him here on his farm in Auburn. Wine made from grapes grown by Nick, pressed, blended and bottled by Nick.
